Meet our Crafty Bloggers

KAREN CLARE

Karen is a very experienced crafter, blogger and demonstrator who holds regular classes in her local area and has travelled up and down the country running workshops and demo's.

She has proudly held positions on a range of Design Teams over the years, but more recently can be found demonstrating for Docrafts and their latest products.

Karen has also been working alongside Angela, the designer and owner of Polly Allsorts and is currently on the Design Team for Samantha of Samantha K Designs, both of whom have debuted products on the craft channel, Hochanda.

She said, "It's a real honour to be working alongside the loveliest group of wonderfully creative ladies"

It's a pleasure to have Karen on board as one of The Craft Show's Crafty Bloggers.

ANGELA MAREE DEARLOVE

Angela has been a crafter for over 30 years, sewing, cake decorating and card making. She has a small business called "Polly Allsorts" which was created after she lost her beautiful Mum, Pauline, to cancer in October 2014. Angela was utterly bereft, her mum was her best friend and crafting partner and they went to all the craft and sewing shows together.

After her sad loss Angela started to craft again, designing and making cards, to lose herself from her terrible grief. It was good for her soul, her therapy and got her through dark days. After a year or so Angela came up with the idea of making a little whimsical house for her granddaughter, Ava Rose as a home for her little woodland animals. Angela designed a few in the hope that maybe she could start selling them and was lucky enough to be asked to be a guest designer on Hochanda - the Home of Crafts, Hobbies and Arts television channel.

Angela recently launched her website Polly Allosrts and sells her whimsical houses, stamps and stencils that she designs in her
Etsy shop.

We are so happy that Angela has joined The Craft Show Crafty Bloggers and look forward to her sharing her ideas, tutorials and videos. It's a privilege to have Angela on board.

DAPHNE & KATIE

"I'm Katie. I started crafting as a hobby around seven years ago when I was pregnant with my son Liam. I started making cards for all occasions and then went on to make basic jewellery for friends and family. As there was more interest I started to attend craft fayres with my mum Daphne and things progressed from there.

We now occupy a small unit in The Silverwood Craft Centre in Long Sutton and offer a bespoke service making all types of designs with gemstones and healing stones and offer minor repairs on pre-loved jewellery if it is possible. Hand crafted bags and other accessories compliment our beautiful natural freshwater pearl range. We love making wedding jewellery or the classic pearls for any occasion, and designing the vintage look.

Mum and I both work with various different materials from wire to gemstones, cords and beads and love the variety of different techniques and new designs.

We now run a series of morning workshops throughout the Summer and Autumn. Small informal relaxed groups learning a new craft and taking home pieces of jewellery that are personal to you.

I am also looking forward to working with The Bourne Craft Centre, home of The Craft Show where we have planned more workshops during the summer.

We love to meet new visitors to the shop and welcome regular customers back, you are always sure of a warm welcome, a ready smile."

It's such a pleasure to warmly welcome Katie and Daphne to the The Craft Show Crafty Blogger Team.

Thank you for joining us here at The Craft Show.

LYNDA HALL

"I have been crafting in one form or another for as long as I can remember, but around ten years ago I discovered the joy of card making, scrapbooking and other paper crafts and that has really become my passion over time. I also love to create mixed media pieces and am never happier than when messing with inks, paint and all things messy.

I craft purely as a hobby and it provides me some welcome relaxation time from my otherwise hectic life. I am a wife, mum of two daughters, owner of three lunatic dogs and also run my own successful childcare business from home. I feel very fortunate to be as passionate about my work as I am about my hobby, and I love it when I can combine the two and teach the children I care for to enjoy being creative with different mediums.

Exploring and researching my love of crafts through blogging and social media has really widened my creative skills and horizons, and I love to chat to likeminded people this way. It has also put me in the fortunate position of being able to serve on several design teams over recent years. I currently design for Samantha K Gifts, Polly Allsorts and Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog .

I am very excited to be joining the talented team of Crafty Bloggers and sharing this creative journey together."

We are thrilled to welcome Lynda aboard the Crafty Bloggers Team, thank you for joining us here.

JAMIE-JAY

"Hi, my name is Jamie or Jay, but my friends call me Jamie-Jay.

A bit about my history: I’ve lived a very varied life so far. Born (too many years ago) in Essex, England, I grew up with a keen interest in music and wildlife. When I was young I used to play a number of classical instruments and would help my dad out with his numerous pigeons - these things shaped my life tremendously and eventually, as time passed I found myself having owned two pet shops and a dog grooming parlour, and my passion for music led me to DJ’ing.

Life had a few other ideas for me and after a couple of serious illnesses, I now need tri-weekly dialysis. Ah well, it’s not great, but once I picked myself up and dusted myself down (so to speak) I realised the experiences taught me a few important things.

I now spend much of my time doing things I enjoy and getting the most out of life that I can; I’m a bit of a geek, I love SciFi (particularly Star Trek) and fantasy stories, I visit my Mum and sister at least three times a week and just recently I’ve got into paper crafting in a big way!
My crafting: Crafting fulfills so many of my creative urges, it’s an amazing pass-time I am delighted to have discovered - there aren’t so many male crafters around so I hope to offer people something different. Watching people’s reactions when they open one of my cards is one of things in life I consider very special, you can’t beat it.

I’ll try to share my crafts and a bit more about my life with you via my blog, and you can find my creations by popping over to @cardsbyjamiejay on Instagram and Facebook."

We are very pleased to have Jamie on The Craft Show Crafty Bloggers team.
